4–12 hrs per week
Location: North West: Merseyside, East Lancashire and Salford
Cycling Projects is recruiting for sessional members of staff to lead bike rides and Wheels for All sessions in locations across the North West. This is an opportunity to work with a well-established and respected charity to help improve the well-being and health of people through leading beginner and intermediate Pedal Away rides, running Wheels for All sessions using adapted bikes and supporting our Bike & Boots project.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, welcoming ride leader who is able to engage with people and put them at ease on our rides. Pedal Away rides range from three-mile park rides to rides of up to 15 miles using roads, greenways and cycle paths. Wheels for All sessions take place in parks using adapted bikes. Our Bike and Boots project offers individual support with route planning and buddy rides and walks. You will be working with adults and children with differing abilities and needs, and you will be able to deal with minor mechanical problems as they arise. The ability to keep accurate records of our rides is also important. But most of all we are looking for someone who can help promote our rides to new people and motivate them to keep coming back for more!
We have opportunities for ride leaders on our weekday daytime and evening rides, and occasional weekend rides. Our Charity supports local and national events so a keen interest in promoting the fantastic work we do at meetings, forums and festivals is essential.
For an informal discussion and returned application forms or to visit a local ride or session, contact Nancy Waine, Pedal Away co-ordinator for Merseyside on 07469 148 245 and firstname.lastname@example.org
Closing date: 5pm 8th April 2019
