Parkride sessional worker vacancy

Support the parkride team across Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, and Coventry.

Cycling Projects is pleased to announce the continued growth of the countywide the Wheels for All service and we are keen to develop this provision as part of the parkride project delivered in partnership with Midland Mencap within Birmingham and the wider West Midlands

We are now recruiting for several sessional staff to help to deliver a well-received inclusive cycling offer within Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. As parkride sessional staff, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the inclusive cycling sessions, engaging with existing participants and welcoming and supporting new participants to Wheels for All and parkride sessions in Birmingham & West Midlands.

This is a funded project through to summer 2022 with funding and investment from Sport England with participation and support from exiting participants and partners.

We would anticipate that there would be regular sessional work available of between 3 and 12 hours per week. Please note that we deliver parkride cycle activities all through the year, though the peak demand for sessional staff support is likely to be between March and October.

Covering regions: With particular focus in SUTTON COLDFIELD, BIRMINGHAM & COVENTRY.

Casual hours to support the delivery of the parkride project in Birmingham and Coventry (initially) with scope to be deployed at other sessions in the West Midlands area.

This will include weekday, evening and weekend session delivery. The rate payable would be between £8.50 and £9.25 per hour (tbc).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the country’s leading inclusive cycling charity with a strong focus on disability access, health improvement and social inclusion for all ages and abilities.

You will be a highly motivated individual with experience of working across a broad section of partners. You will ideally have experience of delivering community projects and had experience of working with people of all abilities and/or have previously worked for a charity.

You will be enthusiastic, driven, well organised and able to embrace cycling as a credible and beneficial activity for people regardless of their ability. You will be part of an effective and exciting movement of bringing cycling to people across many locations regardless of their ability.

Application deadline is Friday 7th June 2019. Interviews will be held week commencing: 17th June 2019.

To apply, please request an application pack and return the application form along with your covering letter & email to janet.haynes@cycling.org.uk
