Good Samaritan Day - Volunteering in Croxteth Knowsley

Today is National Good Samaritan Day 13th March, which is a day to recognise the unselfish actions of those that provide help for people in need.

Our volunteers at Croxteth Park and Halewood Wheels for All have gone above and beyond over the last twelve months to maintain our fleet of adapted bikes (bikes for people with disabilities, limited mobility and senior health issues) to ensure that they are in top tip condition for disability cycling activities in Knowsley.

The volunteers attended cycling sessions at Croxteth Park and Halewood Park during the quiet times of the year to repair and maintain the bikes, which involved changing and pumping tyres, checking brakes, removing rust, straightening wheels and anything else needed to get them ready so family cycling and group cycling sessions could go ahead.

Our fantastic volunteers Dave Carson, Barrie Holmes and Dave Clarkson have given up their time to improve the lives of others using their enthusiasm for cycling, mechanical skills and passion to make Knowsley a more inclusive place to exercise and be healthy.

We are currently recruiting for more volunteers in Croxteth and Halewood in Knowsley so if you enjoy cycling, love the outdoors, and want to help people with a disability, limited mobility and senior health conditions to keep fit and active.
